    Our clients know that implementation of sustainability initiatives is good business. To support the sustainability initiative of a retail client, we evaluated various waste streams at a one-million square foot distribution center.   Apex was able to remove approximately 40,000 gallons per day of condenser water from the POTW waste stream reducing facility discharge by more than 60%.

  • Sustainability - Case Study 2

    The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) selected Apex to implement their Strategic Recycling Program (SRP). Our recycling team was ready with innovative, cost-effective processes to address the program’s requirements.  To realize economic savings, engineering advantages, and environmental enhancements, we identified constructability and prepared specifications and procedures to recycle asphalt, aluminum, slag, rubber, ashes, compost, glass cullet, and plastic.  In the past 4 years, Apex expertise has ensured the success of 22 recycled materials projects and identified more than 17 service contracts where recycling benefits would be recognized.
